Devils assign 25 to Lowell, 4 head back to Juniors
Finally. An official team (ish). Just in time for our pre-season game here in Lowell on Friday night. (Vs. the Portland Pirates).

East Rutherford, NJ (Sept. 26, 2006) – The New Jersey Devils reduced their training camp roster, by assigning 25 players to their top development team, the American Hockey League’s Lowell Devils, and returning four players to their junior teams.

Assigned to Lowell were: goaltenders Frank Doyle, Gregg Naumenko and Jordan Parise; defensemen Alex Brooks, Mark Fraser, Tomas Harant, Nate Kiser, Eric Lundberg, Olivier Magnan, Dan McGillis, Bryan Miller and Mike Mottau; and forwards Nicklas Bergfors, Patrick Davis, Stephen Gionta, Ivan Khomutov, Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond, Chris Minard, Ryan Murphy, Mike Pandolfo, Justin Papineau, Rod Pelley, Jason Ryznar, Aaron Voros and Petr Vrana. Returned to their junior teams were defensemen Matthew Corrente (Saginaw, OHL), Kirill Tulupov (Chicoutimi, QMJHL) and Sean Zimmerman (Spokane, WHL); and forward Kyell Henegan (Shawinigan, QMJHL).

Ahhhh. Dan McGillis. Can I mention that I wasn't really a fan when he was with the Bruins?

Yeah, most of us in Jersey weren't fans of his when he was with the NJ Devils either. I'm disappointed that Corrente didn't get signed to Lowell. I know he's young, but I thought he looked good from what I saw of him. Stephen Gionta was looking good too, but I guess they don't think he's ready for the big team yet.

I'll get to see Corrente when we got out to Michigan for Thanksgiving. We're going to be near Saginaw and planning on taking in a Spirit game.
